Serge was born in Moldova (Eastern Europe). From the age of 8 he attended music school class for clarinet. At 15 he was invited to attend the National Music College. In 1988 he graduated the National Institute of Art of Moldova, earning a degree in conducting brass and symphony orchestra’s. For several years he travelled the former USSR states as a session musician with various pop and rock bands.
He came to Ireland in 1993 and lived in Co. Clare playing music and soaking up the rich heritage of the Irish music scene. In 1994 he moved to Dublin where he began to teach saxophone and wind ensemble in the Newpark Music Centre. Recent students include actor “Andie McDowell” (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Groundhog Day, etc) whom Serge was teaching saxophone for the Irish movie Tara Road.
Serge has performed on records with artists such as Sinead O’Connor, Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club and Paul Hourican. He is currently working on his own second album “Project Balkanica” with Irish and Italian musicians.
